It was a cold, harsh winter. Gill had gone abroad to train in the depths they call London while Tom held down the fort of forts, The United *&#^$ing States. Tom had been trying (unsuccessfully) to draw London, it worked. Months later, their destinies crossed swords and the epicness of epicness was born...
Fast forward to 2 months our prior from now. Wait pause it there. "Hey Gill" said Tom, with an eager face only able to be described as eager. He was grinning so wide you could see his teeth. The teeth spoke the words that any man would give a child to hear. "Let us engage in battle?" he asked the warrior. "Absolutely" was the reply given by Gill. And so it began, Gill on the west side of the table with Tom opposing the west side of the table. Holding the shiny scroll, Tom announced da rules (which can be viewed in the prior posting, only on Blogger.com!)
Eyes to the Sky is how it began, the battle cries were heard throughout the house director's sweet suite. It is often said that feeble beginnings lead to great accomplishments, this journey was no different. The boys would soon find it. PINGS and PONGS crashed against the eerily hollow cups. "Are your cups filled?" whispered Gill, as to not wake the kittens. "They are now" signed Tom.
Think about the opening scene to 2003's "A Grinch Stole Christmas". Don't remember it?
Muscle memory is a crucial factor to beer pong success. If muscles were creatures, Gill's biceps are elephants, while Tom's are gold. Like they say - an Elephant never forgets!
Meanwhile, a storm is brewing on the pong tables. SPLASH. Gill dips his ball in the water cup. SPLASH. TOM HAS HIT THE EYES TO THE SKY! He will shoot first. Next he shot first.
Tom took the first shot. Using his hands (no offense), he launched it towards the west side. Gill's defense is impregnable. The game has begun.
Think about the battle scene from 2002's Lord of the Rings by JR TOLKIEN. Although a ferocious warrior, Frodo was incapable of stopping the great evil wizard Gandalf (spoiler warning!). Like Frodo, Gill was wearing a ring - but its powers were questionable. Irregardless, Gill drew first blood by hitting the first cup.
"Suck it Gill!", mentioned Gill. "Oh, you just wait, my friend". Said Tom.
Gill took Tom's advice and waited. Patience is a virtue, you know. For those of you annotating this article, please take your time and read at your own pace. You can never be too careful. Safety first.
"Can you believe this intensity" clammored the crowd of onlookers. No. The war waged on at a snails pace, shots were exchanged routinely as the game progressed as expected. Soon the match boiled down to the final 2 cups, one on the west side (HEEEEYYYY) and one on the south side (HEEEEEYYY). Surely, shawty was all da wey turnt up. The men agreed to turn the volume all the way turned up the volume as to add to the sound noise. BANG the ball rolled off of Tom's appendage and glistened. Gill shrieked in terror. Like, seriously. "OH MAN!" Tom shrugged after Betty commented, "THAT WAS SO CLOSE". Gill stepped up to the plate, metaphorically of course, and took his footing in the batters box. He lugged the heavy Louisville Slugger over his shoulder as Tony Montana wound up with the pitch. Gill was not fooled by the breaking ball, he saw it coming the whooooole time. DONK went the ball as it flew over the fence. HOME RUN!
That set the pace for the rest of the day as Gill went on to win the day, 3 - 2.
The score at the end of the day was Gill - 3, Tom - 2.
